Kyndryl has announced an agreement to acquire Healthcare IT Leaders, LLC, an enterprise IT services provider focused on hospitals and health systems. The proposed acquisition is aimed at strengthening Kyndryl’s ability to meet growing demand for AI-led modernization across healthcare providers and payors.

The deal will combine Healthcare IT Leaders’ healthcare consulting and application managed services expertise with Kyndryl’s capabilities in infrastructure, artificial intelligence and enterprise technology modernization.

“Healthcare organizations are under increasing pressure to advance complex clinical, operational and workforce systems while maintaining resiliency, security and compliance,” said Jamie Rutledge, president of Kyndryl U.S. The combination, she added, will strengthen Kyndryl’s ability to support providers and payors through AI-led modernization.

Connecting Applications and Infrastructure

Following the completion of the transaction, Kyndryl plans to integrate Healthcare IT Leaders’ consulting expertise across clinical, operational and workforce applications with its infrastructure and AI capabilities.

The combined offering is expected to allow healthcare organizations to work with a single technology provider across applications, platforms and underlying IT environments. This could help organizations simplify technology management while modernizing systems that support critical healthcare operations.

Kyndryl already works with healthcare organizations across the United States, managing large-scale and highly regulated IT environments. The acquisition would deepen its relationships with major national healthcare systems while expanding its presence at the application and consulting layers of those environments.

Supporting Complex Healthcare Systems

The combined capabilities are expected to support hospitals and enterprise health systems across federal, academic, pediatric and regional healthcare segments.

Healthcare organizations face increasingly complex workforce requirements, stringent regulatory obligations and growing pressure to modernize technology while maintaining operational resilience. Kyndryl said the acquisition will strengthen its ability to address these challenges through integrated technology services and AI-driven transformation.

The deal also reflects the broader shift toward AI-enabled modernization in healthcare, where organizations are seeking to improve technology infrastructure while advancing clinical and operational applications.

Deal Timeline

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close during the second quarter of Kyndryl’s fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory review.

The transaction would further expand Kyndryl’s healthcare capabilities while positioning the company to provide more integrated modernization services as healthcare organizations accelerate investments in AI, applications and enterprise IT infrastructure
