Peggy Huang: An Empath Helping People to Attain Wellness Through Tailored Perspectives

The healthcare industry has been undergoing disruptions for the past decade. As consumers, in the daily hustle while on the run, trying to make ends meet, we often ignore our mental wellness, which is the most crucial aspect of our lives. When we talk about mental wellness, one name can’t be missed here, and that is Peggy Huang, Founder of PH7balance™, registered clinical counsellor and acupuncturist. With the unwavering support of such clinical counsellors, it gets easy to navigate whatever challenges life throws at us.

In her growing years, Peggy struggled with anxiety, depression, and asthma. Progressing in a conventional Asian household, emotional struggles were often misinterpreted. Taught to be tough and have higher endurance, on the inside, she was in search of answers to several unanswered questions and wounds. These early experiences resulted in developing an empathetic personality that planted a seed for her lifelong search for balance and healing.

The Quest

The search for balance turned into her profession. She groomed herself as a Registered Clinical Counsellor, helping individuals navigate emotional challenges and develop healthier ways of coping. She then pursued training as a Registered Acupuncturist, inspired by the holistic wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). As time passed, Peggy realized that psychology and TCM are not opposing worlds but complementary ones. Psychology offers evidence-based tools for regulating emotions, building resilience, and transforming thought patterns. TCM, with its focus on qi, the Five Elements, food therapy, and acupressure, restores balance and enhances the body’s natural healing capacity.

Merging these fields became her focus, which resulted in founding PH7 Balance™ to integrate East and West in emotional wellness, offering individuals a path that goes beyond managing symptoms to cultivating lasting harmony. Her personal experiences have a significant impact on the way she chooses to work.

She shares,” I know firsthand that true healing is not found in one system alone, but in bridging both mind and body, modern science and ancient wisdom.”

One-Size-Does-Not-Fit-All

The inspiration behind PH7 Balance™ was born out of both personal experience and professional insight. Its founder had witnessed firsthand how fragmented care often left people struggling, where mental health was treated apart from physical health, or physical symptoms were addressed without exploring their emotional roots. Having lived with anxiety, depression, and asthma since childhood, she understood deeply how incomplete healing feels when only one side of the human experience is supported.

From that awareness, she envisioned the organization as a place where East meets West in the pursuit of emotional wellness. Even the name reflects this harmony: “pH 7” represents equilibrium at the chemical level, while “balance” speaks to the integration of TCM, psychology, and self-discovery. Her mission has always been clear: to design practical, accessible tools that empower people not just to manage symptoms, but to build resilience and create lasting harmony.

One of the most significant innovations to emerge from this vision is the PH7 BalanceCode™ assessment. This unique tool provides individuals with a personalized wellness blueprint, moving beyond a one-size-fits-all approach. By uncovering their own mind–body patterns through the lens of the Five Elements and modern psychology, people gain pathways to restore both physical and psychological well-being with greater ease and confidence.

Since its beginning, the organization has evolved from one-on-one sessions into ebooks, online courses, and integrative resources. The vision now extends toward global collaboration, making balance more accessible to communities everywhere.

More than a brand, PH7 Balance™ represents a growing movement and an invitation for people to explore and embrace their own path to balance.

Moving Beyond

The integrative model behind her work today was born out of both necessity and lived experience. In her early years as a Registered Clinical Counselor, she leaned on evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness. These approaches gave clients practical ways to regulate emotions, manage stress, and nurture healthier relationships. Yet again, she noticed a recurring challenge: many individuals were highly insightful and intellectually skilled. They could explain the theories, recall the techniques, and even articulate the “right answers,” but still felt unable to break free from repeating patterns.

The truth, she realized, is that change isn’t always about knowledge. Sometimes the body itself holds on, carrying stagnation, tension, or imbalance that keeps people stuck. In those moments, CBT or DBT alone may not be enough. And while TCM can ease physical discomfort, it may not always reach the deeper thought and behavior cycles that fuel those struggles. It became clear that true healing required integration.

Her training as a Registered Acupuncturist allowed her to weave TCM’s holistic wisdom into her practice, embracing concepts like qi flow, the Five Elements, food therapy, and acupressure. Over the years, she developed a model where Eastern and Western methods don’t compete but rather complement each other. Tools such as the PH7 BalanceCode™ assessment bring this vision to life, offering each person an individualized blueprint that addresses both psychological and physical patterns.

This integrative approach empowers people to move beyond insight alone. It helps them release what holds them back, restore harmony between mind and body, and cultivate balance that endures.

Tackling a Series of Challenges

For Peggy, introducing a holistic wellness approach that combined both Eastern and Western practices has been enriching and demanding at the same time. While discussing the same, she shared:

  • She had to face distrust in the Western clinical world, where the genuineness of TCM was questioned.
  • In the TCM circles, another challenge came up. She witnessed practitioners lacking training in approaches such as CBT or DBT, or simply did not have the extra time and resources to learn additional skills for their clients. This resulted in integration feeling like a daunting task while the two worlds remained at a distance. She saw herself in the middle, wanting to depict the desired results while striving to bring these strengths together.
  • Another challenge was the cultural perception of mental health itself. She empathized with her clients who had been brought up in an Asian household like hers. The stigma that followed seeking psychological help made clients hesitant, while being ready for physical treatments like acupuncture. She leveraged patience, persistence, and educated people to be aware that the mind and body are inseparable, and taking care of both is crucial.
  • She also recognized the professional boundaries that often stand in the way of truly integrative care. A “mind worker” without training cannot safely touch a client, while a “body worker” without psychological expertise may struggle to meet emotional needs. As the first in British Columbia to be professionally trained in both disciplines, she has been able to bridge that divide with responsibility and care.

Tuning the Human Connection

Peggy effortlessly balances the roles of clinician, acupuncturist, and entrepreneur. It has been both challenging and rewarding. She has a devoted focus: “to make holistic health accessible, sustainable, and transformative.” Principled on this mission, her aim remains unshaken.

As a clinician, she offers evidence-based psychological support, drawing on CBT, DBT, and mindfulness to help clients regulate emotions and build resilience. As an acupuncturist, she integrates the wisdom of TCM to restore balance in the body, ease physical stagnation, and support long-term vitality. Her clinical training provides a strong foundation of knowledge and integrity, while her acupuncture background ensures that mind and body are never treated in isolation.

Her work as an entrepreneur extends this vision beyond the treatment room. Through PH7 Balance™, she develops resources such as courses, ebooks, and the PH7 BalanceCode™ assessment, giving people personalized wellness blueprints. This role allows her to make integrative tools accessible on a global scale, far beyond one-to-one sessions.

For her, balance comes through integration, not separation. Clinical practice and acupuncture keep her grounded in human connection, while entrepreneurship amplifies her reach. And just as she guides others to pace themselves, she lives by the same principle, embracing mindfulness, self-care, and reflection to embody the balance she teaches.

Client Obstacles

When asked about common struggles, Peggy highlighted the gap between what clients “know” and what they “feel capable of doing”. She has also witnessed smart clients who have gone through self-help books, attended workshops, and learned about mindfulness, CBT, or stress management. The overwhelming stress or emotions don’t allow them to “snap out” of their inner world.

Peggy shares,” Change isn’t simply about knowledge; the body often holds tension, stagnation, or imbalance that keeps the mind stuck.”

A second common struggle she stressed was inconsistency. She often observes that people may try a technique briefly, but without structure or a deeper sense of meaning, it rarely lasts. In the lens of TCM, imbalance in one area, whether physical, emotional, or environmental, always ripples into others. Neglecting sleep, overlooking digestion, or carrying unresolved grief inevitably affects a person’s ability to regulate emotions and sustain balance.

A last common challenge is finding the right tools, even when someone is ready to do the work. One size never fits all, and endless searching can feel discouraging. To address this, she created the PH7 BalanceCode™ assessment, offering each person a personalized wellness blueprint that highlights which approaches best suit their unique mind–body patterns.

Through PH7 Balance™, individuals can learn at their own pace and, when ready, seek deeper support such as one-on-one coaching. This flexibility makes balance not only attainable but sustainable.

Customized Approach

Dealing with clients of different ages and backgrounds is the most significant part of her work. Every client has their own history, culture, and perspective that allows Peggy to utilize a different approach for each client. Her focus is to step into their shoes and offer tailored support.

She shares some examples. For younger clients, she relies on expressive techniques, mindfulness, and body-based tools that help them regulate emotions in ways that feel engaging and practical. For working adults who approach with concerns like work, health, or family concerns, she leverages evidence-based methods such as CBT or DBT alongside TCM principles. This gives them structure and deeper balance. For older adults, her work often centers on sustaining vitality, navigating life transitions, and finding peace. Gentle practices such as acupressure, food therapy, and reflective dialogue become especially supportive in this stage of life.

Cultural sensitivity is equally central to her approach. Having grown up in an Asian household, she understands how cultural beliefs shape perspectives on mental health, physical symptoms, and even the act of seeking help. This awareness allows her to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where people feel respected and understood across backgrounds.

The PH7 BalanceCode™ assessment adds another layer of personalization, offering each client a wellness blueprint that aligns psychological and physical strategies with their unique patterns and values. Her role, ultimately, is to honor each person’s individuality while guiding them toward a lasting balance of mind and body.

Client Appreciation Story

One story she often recalls is of a client who had long struggled with anxiety, low mood, and chronic fatigue. Despite trying counseling, medication, and various wellness programs, nothing seemed to bring lasting change. She understood the theories and coping tools, yet still felt trapped in the same cycles.

At PH7 Balance™, the journey began with the BalanceCode™ assessment, which provided a personalized blueprint of her psychological patterns alongside insights from TCM. It revealed an imbalance in the Wood element, tied to liver health and the emotions of anger and resentment, feelings she recognized as often simmering beneath the surface.

With this clarity, they built a holistic plan: DBT and CBT strategies to shift thought patterns, along with acupressure, breathing practices, and food therapy to support liver health and release tension.

Peggy shares,” Over time, her energy returned, her anxiety eased, and she began to feel more hopeful.”

The turning point came when the client shared, “For the first time, I feel like I understand myself and have a clear path forward.”

That sense of clarity of feeling unstuck and able to move forward is a transformation she witnesses often when clients embrace a truly integrative approach.

Picturing the Future

She envisions a future of integrative care where people no longer feel lost in the process of seeking help. While clinics that bring together psychologists, acupuncturists, and nutritionists are valuable, clients often still face the same challenge: figuring out what actually works for them. Without clarity, the journey can feel like an endless trial and error.

This is where PH7 Balance™ steps in. Through the PH7 BalanceCode™ assessment, clients receive an individualized wellness blueprint that highlights their unique psychological and physical patterns. With this insight, they can choose approaches that fit them best and even build their own care team with confidence.

Looking ahead, she sees integrative care shifting toward true empowerment where clients become active participants in their own healing. With the support of technology and online resources, these tools will become more accessible worldwide, allowing people to learn at their own pace and seek deeper support when ready.

For her, the future of integrative care rests on personalization, sustainability, and empowerment, helping each person define balance for themselves and move forward with clarity.

Client Feedback is Success

For Peggy, success is measured first by transformation when clients move from feeling stuck to feeling empowered, balanced, and hopeful. Sometimes that shift is visible in reduced anxiety or renewed vitality; other times it appears in quieter but profound ways, like deeper sleep, healthier boundaries, or a greater sense of peace. When someone says, “I finally understand myself and know what to do next,” that, to her, is true success.

She also defines success by sustainability. Breakthroughs matter, but lasting change comes when clients can maintain balance using the tools they’ve learned. The PH7 BalanceCode™ assessment supports this by giving each person a personalized blueprint they can return to whenever life evolves, fostering clarity and self-trust over time.

Another measure of success is perspective when clients who once doubted integration leave believing not only that change is possible, but that solutions are always within reach.

For PH7 Balance™, success as an organization goes beyond growth in numbers. It is about impact, creating accessible resources, and staying true to its mission of holistic, sustainable wellness.

Empowered Healing

Her five-year vision for PH7 Balance™ is to see it evolve from a platform into a global movement that redefines emotional wellness and mind–body health. She envisions it as a trusted space where East meets West, offering people the tools, resources, and community to create lasting balance.

At the heart of this vision is the PH7 BalanceCode™ assessment, a tool she hopes will become widely recognized for helping individuals discover their personalized wellness blueprint. Instead of relying on trial and error, clients gain a clear map pointing them toward the right practices, whether CBT, DBT, mindfulness, acupressure, food therapy, or a blend of these approaches.

Over the coming years, she also aims to expand PH7 Balance™ through ebooks, online courses, group coaching, and partnerships with wellness professionals who share an integrative philosophy. These efforts will give clients flexible access to resources while helping them build supportive care teams aligned with their blueprint.

Each step forward is guided by the mission she began with: to make holistic wellness simple, sustainable, and empowering so people everywhere can find their path to balance.

A Guiding Philosophy

A guiding philosophy has shaped both her personal and professional journey: 大道至 — “The Great Way is profoundly simple.” This ancient Chinese wisdom reminds her that true healing isn’t found in complexity but in simplicity.

Having grown up with anxiety, depression, and asthma, she once searched for complicated fixes, only to realize that real transformation comes from returning to essentials: breathing well, eating mindfully, moving the body, managing emotions, and creating simple daily practices that sustain both mind and body.

This philosophy is woven into everything she builds through PH7 Balance™. From the BalanceCode™ assessment to her counseling, acupuncture, and digital tools, her aim is not to overwhelm but to provide clear, individualized blueprints. With that clarity, people discover that balance is both possible and sustainable.

On a personal level, this belief keeps her grounded. When life feels complicated, she returns to simplicity, consistency, and authenticity, the foundations of wellness. It is this conviction that profound healing can be simple, which continues to inspire her every day.
